Global Green Growth Institute praises Ethiopia's readiness to tackle climate change
Helena McLeod, Deputy Director General of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), met with Ethiopian State Minister of Planning and Development Seyum Mekonnen in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. The Ethiopian representative outlined the government's current climate change actions and identified key priority areas for investment by development partners.
The GIZD representative and the minister held talks on ways to strengthen strategic partnership in addressing climate change. This is reoported by ENA.
Helena McLeod, Deputy Director General of the Global Green Growth Institute, for her part, praised Ethiopia's readiness to tackle climate change and outlined ways in which GGGI can support the state. The two sides discussed measures to share global experiences in utilising climate finance mechanisms such as green bonds and the situation in carbon markets.
The Global Green Growth Institute is an intergovernmental organisation that promotes balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability and provides technical support, research opportunities for many countries around the world.
