Guizhou sets sights on becoming China's national computing power hub

The province will advance 75 key projects, including a global intelligent computing centre

Guizhou province has unveiled plans to position itself as a national leader in computing power by 2025, targeting a digital economy valued at US$1.64 billion. The announcement was made by Guizhou province Governor Li Bingjun, as reported by China Daily, a partner of TV BRICS.

The province will advance 75 key projects, including a global intelligent computing centre, as part of its strategy to consolidate its role in the nation's digital transformation. Local authorities aim to cluster data-driven industries while expanding the development and application of big data technologies.

A key highlight of the initiative is the goal to launch over 100 new data products and establish more than 100 institutions dedicated to data development and utilisation.

The provincial government is also prioritising digital upgrades for more than 1,200 large-scale industrial enterprises. Plans include building five smart factories and 100 digitalised workshops to drive efficiency and innovation in traditional industries.

According to the source, with these comprehensive initiatives, Guizhou is poised to emerge as a cornerstone of China’s national computing power infrastructure, shaping the future of the country’s digital economy.
