Head of Bolivia is invited to BRICS summit in Kazan

The summit is the main event of Russia's presidency in the association

Russia has invited Bolivian President Luis Arce to the BRICS summit to be held in Kazan in October, Russian Ambassador Mikhail Ledenev said, according to the Bolivian news agency ABI.

"He (Bolivia's head of state) has been invited to the summit in Kazan in October," he told the State Media Network.

Ledenev also noted that Russia assesses positively the chances of Bolivia joining BRICS. The country's leadership announced its desire to join the association last June.

The BRICS summit will be held in the capital of Tatarstan from 22 to 24 October. The event will be attended by the leaders of the group's countries and partner states.
