Heads of Russian and Chinese sports ministries meet in China
Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin met with Gao Zhidan, Minister of the General Administration of Sport of China, as reported by the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation.
Following the talks, Matytsin noted that thanks to the recent meeting between Putin and Xi and the documents signed by them, new opportunities for bilateral dialogue between various ministries, departments and business structures are opening up.
More than 120 different sports events and activities have been held under the auspices of the cross-over Year of Physical Education and Sport and this year the number of sports events is expected to reach 300.
Last year, there were the III Russian-Chinese Winter Youth Games, and now there are preparations for the International University Sports Festival, as well as competitions and friendly matches between athletes from the two countries in various sports disciplines.
