Ibn Sina Foundation to receive support from TV BRICS in the international promotion of Iran’s scientific and cultural heritage

Russia and Iran are deepening their cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, both bilaterally and within the framework of BRICS

The TV BRICS International Media Network will assist the Ibn Sina Islamic Culture Research Foundation in strengthening cooperation with BRICS+ countries and in the international promotion of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s scientific heritage and Islamic culture.

An agreement to this effect was signed in Moscow by Hamid Hadavimoghaddam, the president of Ibn Sina Foundation, and Janna Tolstikova, CEO of TV BRICS.

Established in 2007, the Ibn Sina Islamic Culture Research Foundation unites members of the academic and student communities who explore various aspects of Islamic culture, science, and philosophy.

The Foundation actively supports research in Islamic and Iranian studies by providing grants and scholarships to scholars and researchers, facilitating the publication of books and academic articles, and organising lectures and workshops.

“Cultural cooperation between Russia and Iran, based on deep historical ties, is an important element of our bilateral relations. It not only preserves and develops national traditions but also enriches the cultural heritage of both nations. Recently, we have observed a surge of interest in Iran from Russians and in Russia from Iranians. Cooperation within the BRICS framework opens new horizons for strengthening ties and simplifying interactions in various fields. By signing this memorandum, the Ibn Sina Foundation aims to intensify its efforts to enhance connections with BRICS and promote Iranian and Islamic culture. We plan to organise art and book exhibitions, screenings of Iranian documentary films, and a wide range of cultural events. Strengthening cultural ties between Iran and Russia within BRICS not only fosters bilateral relations but also creates a favourable environment for mutual understanding between the peoples of our countries,” stated Hamid Hadavimoghaddam, the president of Ibn Sina Foundation.

In pursuit of cultural ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation, the TV BRICS International Media Network signed a cooperation agreement in September 2024 with the Cultural Representation of the Iranian Embassy in Russia.

On the media exchange front, the network collaborates with leading Iranian media outlets, including the Mehr News Agency, The Tehran Times (part of Mehr Media Group), the IRNA News Agency, and the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

In August 2024, TV BRICS premiered the documentary Noqte, which explores the art of Iranian calligraphy, produced with the support of the Ibn Sina Foundation. Directed by Emir Valinejad, the film will be presented at Russian and international film festivals through TV BRICS special screenings. The first audience to view Noqte included attendees of the Street Film Festival in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

In 2024, TV BRICS also served as the main media partner of the Russia-Iran art exhibition Patterns of Friendship.
