III International Film Festival and Film Laboratory “Territory of People's Unity” will be held in offline and online formats

The III International Film Festival and Film Laboratory “Territory of People's Unity” within the framework of the International Media Project “Rendezvous with Russia” will be held from October 31 to November 4 in offline and online formats in the Arkhangelsk region and will be timed to coincide with several memorable dates National Unity Day and the Year of the Teacher and a mentor.

The organisers of the festival are the government of the Arkhangelsk region and the Non-Profit Partnership for the Development of Cinema and Tourism “KiT” with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and the Federal Agency for National Affairs.

The 2023 competition programme includes 30 documentaries in three competitive categories, six short feature films and seven full-length films; special screenings; foreign programme presented by films from India and Brazil; nine master classes; round table “Prevention of extremist ideologies and movements in mono-ethnic regions. Contribution of the journalistic and film community”, which is held jointly with the Guild of Interethnic Journalism; creative meetings.

As part of the film festival, on November 3 at 12:00 at the Youth Center of the Arkhangelsk Region, the editor-in-chief of TV BRICS, Ksenia Komissarova, will hold a master class “Documentary film and industry: how to use media content to promote a key sector of the economy in the global information space. TV BRICS experience in the creation and global distribution of non-fiction films about industry in the Far East (“Gold”, “More expensive than gold”, “Silver of Magadan”, “Golden Coast of the Arctic”).”

On the same day, in the small hall of the Rus cinema (Arkhangelsk), the TV BRICS media network will present a special programme of directors from the BRICS countries at the festival.

At 16:00 there will be a screening of the TV BRICS film “Silver of Magadan” (2023, 26 min., director Andrey Porshnyak), which was included in the competition programme.

At 18:00 viewers will see the film “In turn, only book” (45 min., directed by Shiny Jacob Benjamin, India).

At 19:00 there will be a screening of “Between Worlds. The life and work of Elena Antipova” (60 min., director Guilherme Reis, Brazil).

At the festival “Rendezvous with Russia. Territory of People's Unity" has an extremely large coverage. Offline screenings will take place at 54 venues in the Arkhangelsk region. In addition, absolutely all residents of Russia and other countries will be able to become spectators of the festival. With the support of International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo), screenings will be held at Russian houses abroad, centers for the study of Russian language and culture.

Online broadcasts of films and master classes will be available on the project website and on the Internet resources of partners in Russia and abroad. It will also be possible to watch the opening and closing ceremonies of the festival online, where the names of the film screening winners will be announced.
