In 2020, WhatsApp Won’t Work Anymore on Millions of Smartphones Worldwide

Since 2020, millions of devices will cease to support the WhatsApp messenger, so popular across Russia

Since 2020, millions of devices will cease to support the WhatsApp messenger, so popular across Russia. And it will happen worldwide, reports the tvbrics.com correspondent with a reference to TASS.

On Windows Mobile powered device, WhatsApp will stop working at the beginning of January, and since February it won’t work on smartphones powered by iOS 8, Android 2.3.7. and older versions. The Daily Mail wrote about it.

Owners of these devices won’t be able to create new or confirm existing WhatsApp accounts anymore.

To recap, the Microsoft Corporation reported about its refusal to support the latest version of Windows 10 Mobile. The developers urged users to switch over to the devices powered by iOS and Android.

Therefore, the messenger will not work on smartphones with Windows Phone OS since December 31, 2019, that is when Microsoft stops supporting Windows 10 Mobile OS.

The users who have not downloaded the latest versions of the software will not be able to use App Store services, iCloud, e-mail, or a web browser. What is more, they will have trouble viewing correct date and time.
