In Russia, a rare emerald was found again at the Mariinsky Priisk mine
In 2018, an emerald weighing 1,540 grams was found at the Mariinsky Priisk mine, the only emerald deposit in Russia, in the Urals. And again, a record precious discovery - an emerald weighing 1,600 grams was found, a correspondent for tvbrics.com reports.
It was raised from a depth of 260 meters. The mineral is unique not only for its great weight, but also for its very form. True, the experts attributed the crystal to the third category in grade, and it was because of its natural cracks. But it does not bother buyers, they are ready to buy the emerald giant, together with a deposit of precious stones found at the mine, for 32 million rubles.
“The edges are even, contoured with a mica envelope,” said Yevgeny Vasilevsky, the Director General of the Mariinsky Priisk JSC, and added that the stone “had come” practically in its original form, and this indicated a significant rarity and uniqueness of the emerald.
The mining technology allows you to remove crystals without damage. The so-called "gentle mining" is carried out manually and without blasting.
Recall, “Mariinsky Priisk mine is a unique enterprise for Russia and the largest field in Europe. It is located in the Sverdlovsk region, in the village of Malysheva. At the beginning of 2015, Gubernatorsky emerald weighing more than 1,000 grams was found there, Gokhran recognized it as unique. And in 1990, it was at that mine that they found an emerald weighing 2 kilograms.
