In São Paulo, 2.5 billion reais will be invested in healthcare, housing and social assistance
The Government of São Paulo has unveiled a plan to invest 2.5 billion reais in housing, healthcare and social assistance in the capital of the state.
"These funds are part of the 22 billion reais that the state government is investing this year," São Paulo Governor João Doria said."And next year we will have another 28 billion reais investment in all municipalities of the state, including the largest city in the country. As a result of this joint work of the Mayor's office and the state government, other good news will be announced soon," he added.
The investments were identified during a meeting of João Doria, Deputy Governor Rodrigo Garcia, mayor Ricardo Nunes, state and municipal secretaries at the Bandeirantes Palace on Wednesday, as reported by television network TV CULTURA, a TV BRICS’s partner.
"I expect that in the coming days and weeks we will have other good news for our citizens again. Today, the city of São Paulo has made significant progress, mainly in the fields of healthcare, housing and social assistance, and we are grateful for that," said Ricardo Nunes.
The housing sector will enjoy the largest investments: 2.2 billion reais will be allocated for the construction of 29 thousand houses. Of this amount, 500 million reais will be earmarked to the municipal program Pode Entrar. Another 160 million reais will be allocated for the construction of 728 new housing units in the Chácara do Conde housing complex in Grajaú in the south of the country. 515 million reais have been already allocated for the construction of 3160 new houses under the Mananciais Program.
The state government has authorized the transfer of four properties to the Mayor's Office to provide new medical services and more than 541 respirators, and also has decided to allocate 333 million reais for charitable hospitals and an oncology center.
The state will also allocate 17 million reais annually to the new Bruno Covas Oncology Center in Vila Santa Catarina in the Southern Brazil.
