India Buys UAVstoFight Against Locust
Locust in India will be taken under control by means of unmanned aerial vehicles and the special equipment for locust movement monitoring. All these measures are necessary to prevent the new outbreak of the "locust infection", a tvbrics.com correspondent reports with the reference to rossaprimavera.ru.
The outbreak of this "disease" in Pakistan has caused concern in Indian authorities, though last year India succeeded to take a swarm of desert locust under control.
Today, in order to fight against insects, India buys not only UAVs, but also insecticidespray equipment. The authorities are afraid for wheat and oilseed crops which can be severely damaged by ravenous insects.
To recap, a locust swarm can fly 150 kilometers in one day. For the last two decades, Pakistan has faced the most severelocust infection, as a result of which they declared a state of emergency in the country since February 1, 2020.
