India launches the country's first analogue space mission

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced the launch of India's first analogue space mission in Leh, Ladakh. This is reported by ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.

The main objective of the project is to simulate the conditions of life on an interplanetary station and study the challenges of establishing such a base.

It is noted that this mission contributes to the development of technologies to simulate the stay on Mars and the Moon. Moreover, the data collection from the study will help India's Gaganyaan manned spacecraft project.

Due to its dry climate, high altitude and desert landscape, Ladakh is considered an ideal place for such missions, the news agency explains.

Analogue research is a field test conducted on Earth that simulates being in space. These types of missions allow scientists and engineers to understand how humans, robots and technology can operate in extreme near-space conditions.
