India’s manned space flight is expected in 2023
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Tuesday said that human space flight programme had been delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic and India is moving forward in the direction of this ambitious project.
Before manned flight in the spacecraft, two other flights would be launched. The first flight would be unmanned and in the second there would be a female robot so that all the dangers and situations can be assessed before the human astronaut is sent in the third spacecraft.
The manned spaceflight was expected to be sent in 2023. The first Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma entered space in foreign made spacecraft.
Dr. Singh praised Indian scientists including women scientists for their work in the Human Space Flight programme and said that the next astronaut of India would enter space in indigenous spacecraft, as reported by Trinity Mirror, a partner of TV BRICS.
