India supports Bolivia's aspirations to join BRICS

According to the Bolivian foreign minister, this could be an important step for Latin America

India supports Bolivia's entry into BRICS, Indian Ambassador Vhisvas Vidu Sapkal said at a meeting with Bolivian Vice President David Choquehuanca.

“We are determined to work together to strengthen relations and implement initiatives that will benefit our people,” Choquehuanca said.

The two sides stressed the importance of promoting cultural exchange between Bolivia and India and agreed to work on programmes and activities that will strengthen bilateral ties. This was reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.

Earlier, Bolivian Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa reiterated the country's aspiration to join BRICS. She also emphasised that Bolivia's accession to BRICS would be an important step for Latin America in creating a fairer world order.
