India to join the International Energy Efficiency Hub
It is expected to help accelerate the country’s transition to a low-carbon economy
The Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved India’s decision to join the International Energy Efficiency Hub. This move will strengthen the country’s role in global initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and advancing sustainable energy development, according to ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.
By joining the Hub, India will gain access to a wide range of expertise and resources, enabling the country to advance its domestic energy efficiency initiatives. Furthermore, the Indian government will have the opportunity to collaborate with other member states, sharing its own experiences while adopting international best practices.
India's participation in this platform is seen as a significant step towards a sustainable future. In particular, it is expected to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy and enhance the country’s energy security.
The International Energy Efficiency Hub was established in 2020 as a successor to the International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation (IPEEC), in which India also participated. The platform brings together governments, international organisations, and private companies to exchange best practices and innovative solutions.
Sixteen countries, including Brazil, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, and Argentina, have already joined the Hub.
