Iran and Argentina apply to become part of BRICS
Iran and Argentina have applied for membership in BRICS. The day before, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote on the Telegram messaging app.
Three days ago, Argentine President Alberto Fernández announced Argentina's plans to become part of the alliance, speaking at the "BRICS Plus" summit. At the meeting, the leaders of the 18 countries discussed the prospects for expanding the BRICS association and considered the future of the "BRICS Plus" format.
On Monday, 27 June, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh announced the country's intention to join the international association, as reported by Tasnim News Agency.
