A number of important initiatives were discussed
Iran and China are deepening their collaboration in science and technology, building on a foundation of long-standing economic and trade partnerships. The pledge came during a visit by the Chinese Ambassador to Iran, Cong Peiwu, to Tehran, where he met with Iranian science officials. This is reported by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
Recently, several memorandums were signed between China and Iran. These agreements cover key areas such as advancing cooperation in artificial intelligence and establishing a joint laboratory network among member countries of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Based on the results of recent high-level visits and agreements reached, the focus is on establishing specific partnerships. Key initiatives include:
• Joint AI development: Leveraging each country's strengths in artificial intelligence to drive innovation and regional development.
• One Belt, One Road Laboratory Network: Creation of a joint network of laboratories in the countries of the Belt and Road Initiative to promote international scientific cooperation and resource sharing.
• Researcher Exchange programmes: Facilitate the exchange of researchers, young scientists, and talented elite to accelerate knowledge transfer and collaborative research.
• Innovation and Technology Centres: The first Iranian Innovation and Technology Centre will open in China in the coming months, which will promote cooperation with the private sector and technology transfer.
Officials highlighted that collaboration could bring valuable benefits to the region and the world.
Furthermore, an agreement on researcher exchanges between Iran and China is in the works, with an implementation plan currently being developed. The presence of Iranian technology companies at exhibitions in China and the participation of Chinese companies in exhibitions in Iran will also be promoted.
