Iran and Kazakhstan create joint investment working group to explore shared opportunities
The 20th session of the Iran-Kazakhstan Joint Economic Committee took place in Astana. The meeting underscored the strong commitment of both nations. This is reported by Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
During the session, Iran and Kazakhstan reached several important agreements aimed at boosting bilateral economic cooperation. Key initiatives include the establishment of a joint investment working group to explore shared opportunities, the creation of trade centres, and the organisation of joint exhibitions to enhance business engagement.
Additionally, a mutual recognition agreement for Authorized Economic Operators was finalised to simplify customs procedures, promoting smoother trade flows between the two countries.
The two sides also agreed to strengthen logistics and transport cooperation, with Kazakhstan set to establish a transit terminal on 15 hectares of land allocated at Iran’s Shahid Rajaee Port. Both countries reviewed ways to expand multimodal transport along the International North–South Transport Corridor and discussed launching direct flights to facilitate trade and movement.
Finally, plans were also made for a joint meeting on oil, gas, refining, and petrochemicals scheduled for the third quarter of 2025, alongside continued collaboration in agriculture and health sectors.
