Iran and Saudi Arabia to form joint working group on agriculture and environmental collaboration

In a significant step towards regional cooperation, Iranian Minister of Agriculture Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh has announced the establishment of a joint working group between Iran and Saudi Arabia to address shared concerns in agriculture, natural resources, and environmental issues. Speaking on the sidelines of the 16th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in Riyadh, Ghezeljeh highlighted the importance of strengthening ties with Saudi Arabia. He revealed that discussions with Saudi agricultural officials had laid the foundation for collaborative projects in these vital sectors.

The minister also detailed his interactions with representatives from several other countries, including Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. These meetings underscored the value of multilateral dialogues in addressing global challenges related to agriculture and environmental sustainability.
