Iran and Tajikistan introduce visa-free regime
Iran and Tajikistan have reached an agreement on mutual cancellation of visa regime. This is reported by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
The new travel rules for citizens of the two countries come into force on 10 August, said Alireza Mahmoudi, Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Holders of internal passports will be able to stay without a visa on the territory of Iran and Tajikistan for 30 days.
The new travel rules apply only to passengers arriving at airports in Tehran and Dushanbe.
Iran has recently pursued a policy of cancelling or simplifying visa regime for citizens of some states. In addition, Tehran is actively engaged in attracting foreign tourists and promoting its cultural attractions abroad.
