Iran inaugurates its first national microchip design centre
Iran officially inaugurated its first national microchip design centre in a ceremony attended by Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy Ruhollah Dehghani.
The centre, which was inaugurated on Monday, aims to develop technology and create prototypes for various applications of microchips. The 500 square metre centre, which focuses on fabless development, is divided into three sections for in-house production of various microchips. This is reported by IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.
In addition to managing international chip development projects, the centre provides training for chip designers, assembly and software production specialists. It also supports the development of knowledge-intensive products that are based on locally manufactured chips.
