Iran increases oil production to highest level in 46 years

Iran’s oil industry has reached its highest production level in 46 years, according to Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad. This is reported by ParsToday, a partner of TV BRICS.

He stated that the process of selling Iranian oil continues steadily, with performance over the past 14 months achieving record indicators. Total production of crude oil and condensate has risen to about 1.5 million barrels per day, marking a significant milestone for the national energy sector.

This result reflects the country’s emphasis on sustainable development, efficient use of natural resources, and the strong technical capacity of domestic specialists and engineers. Higher production volumes contribute to economic stability and reinforce Iran’s position as an important participant in the global energy market.

Iran has maintained consistently high oil export levels in June 2025, with shipments holding close to 1.8 million barrels per day, According to the report, the figures reflects one of the strongest performances since 2018.

Rising demand in China drives additional export dynamics. Newly introduced import quotas have allowed Chinese refineries to increase purchases, including crude stored on tankers near the coast. Experts note that these measures have supported greater volumes of Iranian oil deliveries and more active shipments to Chinese ports.
