Iran produces 1,415 kg of honey per capita
Iran is one of the largest honey producers in the world, ranking third in terms of production. This is reported by the Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture, the country's per capita honey production is 1.415 kg and consumption is 1.397 kg.
There are about 95,000 hospitals in the country, employing 155,000 people. Iran's Research Institute aims to increase honey production to 3–4 kilogrammes per family.
In addition to honey, the country also produces royal jelly, pollen, beeswax, propolis, and bee venom.
