Iran to launch new satellite into orbit using Russian carrier rocket

The launch is planned for 2025

Moscow and Tehran are planning to put into orbit a satellite developed in Iran using a Russian rocket. This was revealed by Hossein Shahrabi, CEO of one of the country's leading innovation companies and quoted by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The industry representative also revealed details regarding the new spacecraft and joint work with the Russian side.

“This satellite is essentially an optimized version of the Kowsar and Hodhod satellites, which will be launched in 2025 in cooperation with Russia," Hossein Shahrabi revealed.

According to him, this development will be able to fulfil the functions of both satellites, which were created for the development of information technology and communications, as well as for obtaining high-quality images of the Earth's surface.

The use of satellites in the field of the Internet of Things offers such advantages as providing stable communication throughout the territory, including remote mountainous areas, regardless of weather conditions.

Earlier, Iranian satellites Kowsar and Hodhod were successfully launched from Russia's Vostochny Cosmodrome. The satellites were put into orbit using a Soyuz rocket.
