Kazakhstan and China develop strategic partnership

During the meeting, various aspects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and China were discussed, including trade, investment, industry, energy, agriculture, transport, logistics and culture. This is reported by "Delovoy Kazakhstan", a partner of TV BRICS.

According to Alikhan Smailov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, bilateral trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China is currently reaching high levels. Last year it increased by 35% to an impressive $24.2 billion. This dynamic growth continues this year.

Head of the Government stressed the importance of expanding the list of joint projects on industrialisation and investment, signing the Roadmap for the implementation of the Trade and Economic Cooperation Programme until 2026 and updating the Agreement on mutual recognition of import and export goods.

Smailov mentioned that currently about 85% of goods from China to Europe are transported through Kazakhstan. In this regard, Kazakhstan is actively developing measures to increase the capacity of its infrastructure to meet the growing demand.

Vice Premier of China Ding Xuexiang noted that the current year has been very productive for Kazakhstan and China, and emphasised China's readiness to strengthen cooperation in all mutually beneficial directions.

"At present, both countries are at a key stage of their development and revitalisation. Against the backdrop of unprecedented changes, China and Kazakhstan are facing more complex challenges. Therefore, in the spirit of co-operation, we should strengthen mutual support on all key issues," Ding Xuexiang said.
