Kazakhstan-China trade surpasses US$30 billion in first eight months of 2025

Bilateral turnover rises as energy and industrial cooperation deepen

Trade between Kazakhstan and China reached US$30.68 billion in the first eight months of 2025, marking a 5.7 per cent year-on-year increase, according to newly released customs data. This is reported by Kazinform, a partner of TV BRICS.

From January to August, Chinese exports to Kazakhstan amounted to US$19.4 billion, up 6.9 per cent compared to the same period last year, while imports from Kazakhstan rose by 3.9 per cent to US$11.28 billion.

Overall trade turnover expanded by 6.8 per cent compared with 2024, continuing the steady upward trend in bilateral economic relations.

In 2024, trade volume between the two neighbours totalled US$43.82 billion, representing a 6.8 per cent growth on the previous year.

Observers note that Kazakhstan’s growing role as a key regional hub for energy resources, transport, and logistics has positioned it as a crucial partner for China. At the same time, China remains an important source of industrial equipment, consumer goods, and technology for Kazakhstan, ensuring balanced and mutually beneficial trade flows.

The continued rise in trade is expected to lay the groundwork for further collaboration in infrastructure, agriculture, and advanced industries, as both sides work towards diversifying their economic ties and achieving sustainable growth, as reported by the source.
