Kazakhstan has increased poultry meat production by 58 per cent over five years (from 2020 to 2025). The country aims to further increase production volumes in order to fully supply the domestic market with locally produced poultry meat. This was reported by Kazinform, a partner of TV BRICS, citing the country’s Ministry of Agriculture.

"The state support measures currently being implemented are enabling companies in the sector to increase production capacity, modernise existing facilities and launch new investment projects. By the end of 2025, Kazakhstan had produced 371,700 tonnes of poultry meat, which is 58 per cent more than in 2020, when production stood at 235,300 tonnes," the ministry stated.

Furthermore, over the past five years, the share of domestically produced poultry meat in total domestic consumption has risen from 58 per cent to 78 per cent. The current trend remains positive. In 2025, poultry meat production totalled 372,500 tonnes, an increase of 3.5 per cent compared with 2024, when 360,000 tonnes were produced.

According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, 192.4 thousand tonnes of poultry meat were produced in the first six months of 2026. There are 37 industrial egg-producing poultry farms operating in the country, with a total capacity of 4.5 billion eggs per year. A further 32 enterprises specialise in meat production. Their combined production capacity stands at 505,000 tonnes of poultry meat per year.

In the near future, there are plans to commission new production facilities with a total capacity of 220,000 tonnes of poultry meat per year. Key projects will include the construction and expansion of production complexes in the Almaty and Zhambyl regions. Their combined capacity will amount to approximately 170,000 tonnes of produce per year.
