Kazakhstani actors to be able to attend master classes of Russian Institute of Theatre Arts teachers

Teachers of Russian Institute of Theatre Arts GITIS (a partner of TV BRICS) Andrey Oganyan, Robert Elkibayev and Tatiana Vasilyeva will give 15 days master classes on acting, stage speech and movement to artists of the Kazakh National Drama Theatre named after Mukhtar Auezov.

The trip to Alma-Ata was initiated by the theatre's director Yerkin Zhuasbek, who aims to enrich the creative potential of the troupe ahead of the theatre's anniversary.

"The idea of conducting advanced training programmes at GITIS for the theatre's actors in connection with the 100th anniversary is justified by the desire to form a matrix of cultural identity to ensure a high level of skills for the theatre's artists and staff. As a result, we hope, using these skills, to begin to realise quality promotion of Kazakh culture in the international space," shared Yerkin Zhuasbek.

"GITIS today has quite close cooperation with Russian theatres in Kazakhstan, where creative teams of our graduates regularly put on productions. We are happy that almost every premiere becomes an event for theatre art, increasing ticket sales. We are proud that the protocol of the intergovernmental commission signed this year mentions GITIS twice. We are now accepting five future directors from the Republic of Kazakhstan for training. GITIS master classes at the Mukhtar Auezov Kazakh National Drama Theatre are a pleasant fact of recognition of GITIS' leadership in academic theatre education and the effectiveness of our methods"

Master classes for actors of the Mukhtar Auezov Kazakh National Drama Theatre are part of the university's strategic project "New Russian Theatre "Stanislavsky 2030" of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science's programme "Priority-2030".
