Leticia Oro named third 2022 Youth Olympic Ambassador

The athlete, along with Ana Marcela Cunha and Rebeca Andrade, will inspire young talents

The Brazilian Olympic Committee (BOC) announced this Monday (8 August) that world athletics bronze medallist Leticia Oro Melo will be the ambassador for the 2022 Youth Olympic Games in Aracaju, to be held from 2 to 17 September.

Leticia Oro will watch the competition in Aracaju and mingle with the country's best young athletes. She joined Ana Marcela Cunha and Rebecca Andrade.

"Leticia is a very talented athlete who overcame a serious injury to achieve a historic result at the last World Championships. This shows that with a lot of dedication you can achieve your dreams. It is examples like this that we want to show to the participants of the Youth Olympic Games to motivate them to develop their careers," said Kenji Saito, BOC Director of Sports Development.

"I have good memories of the past competitions. It was my first international experience. Now I hope to meet and pass on some of my experience to all the athletes in Aracaju," said Leticia.
