Lula invites 20 parliamentarians to accompany him on trip to China
The government of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has invited 20 members of the Brazilian Congress to join the official delegation that will travel to China between 26 and 30 March, as reported by Brasil247, a partner of TV BRICS.
The invitation was formalised in a letter sent by the Minister of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha. The House will pay for the expenses of those who accept.
The list of invitees includes the presidents of the Chamber, Arthur Lira, of the Brazil-China Parliamentary Front, Fausto Pinato, and the Foreign Relations Commission, Paulo Alexandre Barbosa, as well as leaders of parties such as the Workers' Party, Democratic Labour Party and Communist Party of Brazil.
The trip to China is considered one of the highlights of the president's international agenda this year, with the proposal to resume Brazil's leadership role on the global stage.
