Moreover, the Russian politician expressed confidence that Russia and China will increase trade turnover to $200 billion in 2023. He added that this is evidenced by the impressive results of the previous year. According to Mishustin, trade and economic cooperation between the two countries continues to develop successfully despite any external circumstances.

The Russian Prime Minister also highlighted the cooperation between China and Russia in high-tech areas.

"We are talking about aircraft building, machine building, machine tool construction, space research, as well as end-to-end technologies aimed at creating innovative products and providing services. I am convinced that expansion of innovation cooperation will strengthen the technological sovereignty of Russia and China," he said.

In his turn, the Chinese President invited the Russian Prime Minister to visit China in the near future to establish even closer ties. Xi also mentioned that he had offered a trip to China to Vladimir Putin the day before.

"I invited President Putin yesterday to visit China at a convenient time this year, as China will host the third international forum under the One Belt, One Road framework," said the Chinese leader.
