More than 270,000 jobs created in Brazil in May 2022
Brazil's Labour Ministry announced on Tuesday 28 June that 277,000 official jobs were created during May 2022. TV CULTURA, a partner of the TV BRICS network, writes about this.
While there were 1.68 million redundancies during the month, 1.96 million people were hired during the period. The creation of official jobs is the result of subtracting these two numbers.
This figure is higher than that observed in April, when the balance was 197,400 vacancies. The result was also higher than last May, when 266,300 Brazilians were employed.
Even despite recent highs, the improvement may not materialise in practice. The accumulated figure for this year so far represents a deterioration compared to the same period in 2021.
