More than 31,000 citizens complete training programme under initiative Five Million Ethiopian Coders

Innovation and Technology Minister, Belete Mola, announced that more than 31,000 citizens have successfully completed the programming training programme under the "Five Million Ethiopian Coders" initiative and received certificates.

Belete Mola noted that after the full implementation of the reforms, the ideas of opening up the market have been given new development and the country has seen a revival in all economic sectors. In particular, there has been an increase in the number of foreign and domestic investors working in information technology, especially in digitalisation.

More than 246,000 people have registered for the initiative, of which 31,000 have already received certificates. This is reported by ENA, a partner of TV BRICS.

Young people undergoing training, as well as start-ups in the field of technology and with creative potential will receive special support, the minister emphasised.

The "Five Million Ethiopian Coders" programme, launched by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, is being implemented in partnership with the United Arab Emirates to enhance digital skills among youth in Ethiopia.
