More than 500 large-format works presented at the "Pristine Russia" festival

Every year the festival site becomes a platform for discussing environmental issues

The anniversary All-Russian Festival of Nature and Photography "Pristine Russia" takes place in Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the organisers on the opening of the exhibition. His address was read out by Konstantin Kosachev, Chairman of the Festival Organising Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

"Forum events invariably attract the keen attention of Muscovites and visitors to the city, serve important educational purposes, and teach careful, responsible attitude towards the environment," he said.

More than 500 large-format works are on display at the festival. The exposition changes annually. Both professional and amateur photographs are present. Each image has a story to tell.

"Our exhibition somehow unites all lovers of nature photography and forms a new consciousness - the consciousness of respect for what surrounds us," said Tamara Panteleeva, head of the All-Russian Festival of Nature "Pristine Russia".

In addition to works by Russian photographers, there are also photographs by foreign authors. They introduce festival guests to the culture, nature and customs of their countries. This year's exhibition features artists from Brazil, with a total of around 30 works under the general title 'Brazil Uncharted: Fauna and Flora'. The images show the richness of Amazonian wildlife and nature.

“Nature in Brazil is incredibly rich and diverse. It combines various forms of flora and fauna and different biomes, such as the Amazon, the Pantanal and the Serrado. I hope that, having seen this exhibition, as many Russians as possible will want to visit our incredibly rich and interesting country," said Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Russian Federation.

In addition to the exhibition of photographic works, the festival grounds annually become a platform for the discussion of environmental issues. "Pristine Russia" is organised with the support of the Federation Council, the Ministry of Culture and the Russian Ministry of Nature.
