On December 9, 2024, the BRICS+ Information and Cultural Media Centre in Moscow will host an evening of Persian poetry. It is organised by TV BRICS , the Cultural Mission of the Iranian Embassy in Russia and the All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature named after M. I. Rudomino.
"The evening of Persian poetry in the new BRICS+ Media Centre is part of TV BRICS' global work to strengthen international humanitarian cooperation. By forming a unified information space of BRICS+, we support and create events aimed at the development of equal dialogue between countries. The mission of TV BRICS is shared by our partners, which include not only dozens of major national media outlets, but also educational, cultural, sports, public, and governmental organisations from many countries of the world, including the Islamic Republic of Iran. All of us communicate in the language of cultural diplomacy, which is the most convincing and effective today"Janna Tolstikova CEO of TV BRICS
The programme of the poetry evening includes a video presentation of Iran, lectures on Persian literature with a focus on the work of poets Saadi and Ferdowsi, and the performance of musical numbers on national instruments.
"We are happy to show Russians the beauty of Persian literature, which goes back centuries but is still relevant. Iran is called the land of poetry, and it is indeed a matter of our pride. Ancient creativity helps us to cognise the world around us and ourselves, encourages us to strive for knowledge and search for the true meaning of life. The upcoming evening of Persian poetry is not only a look inside a person, but, first of all, an opportunity to develop cultural dialogue and strengthen friendly relations between our countries. The richness and wisdom of Persian poetry will allow representatives of the Russian and Iranian peoples to expand their horizons of knowledge and find common ground in what at first glance may seem different"Masoud Ahmadvand Head of the Cultural Representation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow
TV BRICS International Media Network has been cooperating with the Cultural Mission of the Iranian Embassy in Russia since September 2024. The BRICS+ Information and Cultural Media Centre, established by the State Library for Foreign Literature and TV BRICS International Media Network in October 2024 on the eve of the XVI BRICS summit, is aimed at developing and strengthening humanitarian cooperation between different countries, promoting culture, science, and education.
