Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira has arrived in India

During the 9th meeting of the India-Brazil Joint Commission held in New Delhi, Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira underlined that strategic cooperation between two countries has deepened significantly in recent years. This is reported by ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.

Indian External Affairs Minister said India fully supports Brazil's G20 presidency and appreciates the joint initiatives to create a sustainable world.

"I would like to reiterate India's full support to the Brazilian G20 presidency and also recall that we received your fullest support during our own presidency"

Jaishankar emphasised on the significant growth in bilateral trade between the countries despite some perturbations last year and hoped to discuss these issues with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira. He also highlighted the importance of energy co-operation, especially in biofuels.

Brazilian Foreign Minister added that the ideologies of the countries coincide on many international issues and that the partnership has fuelled increased co-operation in areas such as digital governance.

Vieira said India and Brazil are "close partners" in such international groups as IBSA, BRICS, G20 and others.

"As the chair of G20 this year, Brazil built on the successful Indian chairmanship, which opened up an opportunity for the Global South not only to be heard, but also to proactively contribute to the economic agenda for the years to come"
