New non-invasive cancer screening technique is introduced in Abu Dhabi

The introduction of the liquid biopsy test is a significant step forward in the early detection of the disease

Abu Dhabi has introduced a new non-invasive colorectal cancer screening technique known as liquid biopsy. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

This breakthrough in cancer diagnosis supports Abu Dhabi's commitment to providing world-class cancer care and promoting preventative measures.

Ahmed AlKhazraji, director of one of the Abu Dhabi health centre, stated: “Abu Dhabi is taking a crucial step in prioritising community health by promoting early cancer detection. The introduction of an innovative and non-invasive test like liquid biopsy provides a more accessible and comfortable screening option for patients, reducing barriers and encouraging greater participation in regular screenings.”

Liquid biopsy complements, other screening methods. The new test is important for risk assessment and early detection of tumours or precancerous growths in the bowel, significantly improving the ability to diagnose and control cancer early.

The liquid biopsy will be available as part of a comprehensive health programme at key health facilities in Abu Dhabi.
