Nigeria joins international information exchange through TV BRICS
TV BRICS expands its network of partners on the African continent and starts cooperation with the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Afia TV, a television channel from the south-east of the country, has joined the multilateral information exchange with the BRICS+ countries. The agreement on long-term cooperation was signed by Afia TV CEO Emeka Mba and TV BRICS CEO Janna Tolstikova.
The partners' interaction is aimed at content exchange and joint production of media materials. With the assistance of TV BRICS, Nigeria will have access to up-to-date information on the activities of the BRICS+ countries from primary source media and will be able to promote its own agenda in the international media space.
"I am thrilled about the partnership between Afia TV and TV BRICS, as it opens a new chapter in media collaboration between Nigeria and other BRICS nations. With Nigeria now a BRICS partner country, this collaboration offers an incredible opportunity for Afia TV to showcase authentic African stories, promote cultural exchange, and highlight the shared strengths of emerging economies. Together, we can bridge information gaps, tackle misinformation, and create a unified media space that truly represents the aspirations of the Global South. This partnership reaffirms Afia TV's role as a key player in global conversations and development within the BRICS community, and I look forward to a world of impact we can create together, working side by side," said Emeka Mba.
Afia TV is South East Nigeria's first television channel. It was founded in 2023. Headquartered in the city of Enugu. It broadcasts on Africa's largest satellite platforms DStv channel 254 and GOtv channel 17.
