During the "Meetings at Ilyinka Street" event with the participation of Maksut Shadayev, Head of the Russian Ministry of Digital Economy, Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), suggested that issues related to the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) should be included in the agenda of the BRICS Business Council.
He noted that Russia, having received the right to chair the BRICS Business Council in 2024, can initiate discussions on new directions and topics, including the introduction of AI and regulation of this sphere.
In addition, Katyrin emphasised the need to rely on the expertise of the ministry when formulating the meanings and issues for discussion. In turn, Maksut Shadayev noted the interest in the practice of other countries in healthcare, education and industry, and emphasised the relevance of the topic.
Recall that from 1 January 2024 Argentina, Egypt, Egypt, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia may join the BRICS alliance. These states received an invitation to join the alliance at the XV BRICS summit in Johannesburg in August this year.
