Presidential elections in Russia to be held on 17 March 2024
The Federation Council has approved a resolution on holding presidential elections in Russia on 17 March 2024.
According to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, Russian citizens will elect the President for a term of six years by secret ballot and on the basis of universal equal and direct suffrage. This is reported on the official website of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
The procedure for holding presidential elections is determined by the federal law, according to which the decision on the appointment of elections should be made not earlier than 100 and not later than 90 days before the voting day.
