Pretoria to host workshop on tourism research
The South African Department of Tourism will hold a tourism research workshop in Pretoria on Friday, 24 March on the theme "Advancing tourism growth and development through research: phase of recovery and building resilience".
The Research Seminar is held annually to share research findings and recommendations with stakeholders to improve strategies, planning, programmes, policies and decisions in the tourism sector.
The following research topics will be presented at the event:
- " The refinement of the domestic tourism modernisation model and its validation" - University of Pretoria;- "Improving domestic tourism restoration" - University of KZN;
- "The socio-economic and environmental impact of COVID-19 on domestic tourism in South Africa: challenges and opportunities for a more sustainable and resilient sector" - University of KZN;
- "The refinement of the tourism sustainability model" - North West University and the University of Venda.
