Putin shared Russia's expectations from the SCO

The entity has a strong combined political and economic potential

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with the Kazakhstanskaya Pravda newspaper, of Russia's special expectations from the SCO, as this structure has significant political and economic potential, and includes 26 countries with a wide geographical coverage from South and Southeast Asia to the Middle East and Europe, as reported by the official website of the Kremlin.

The President noted that the SCO is particularly attractive due to its aspiration to establish and diversify cooperation, to take into account the interests of all participants, to the principles of equality, openness and respect for cultural and civilisational diversity.

"We have special expectations of the SCO, in which 26 countries are already participating, because this structure has a powerful aggregate political and economic potential, its geographical area extends from South and South-East Asia to the Middle East and Europe. The appeal of the SCO lies in its focus on creation and multilateral co-operation, mutual consideration of interests, equality, openness and respect for cultural and civilizational diversity," said Russian president.
