Russia and Cambodia work on switching to national currencies
The issue of switching to national currencies in mutual settlements between Russia and Cambodia is being worked out, Russian Ambassador to Phnom Penh Anatoly Borovik told RIA Novosti.
"Our partners are aware of the relevant Russian initiatives regarding cooperation in the financial sector, and they are being worked out," he said when asked about the possibility of switching to national currencies in mutual settlements between the two countries.
The ambassador noted that trade between Russia and Cambodia totalled $239.4 million at the end of 2021, but in the first four months of this year, trade figures declined "given the impact of the pandemic".
