Russia and China agree on joint sporting events for the new year 2023
The parties have planned more than 600 joint sporting events for 2023. The signing was announced by Oleg Matytsin, Russian Sports Minister, as reported by Match TV a Russian website.
"I express my appreciation for our teamwork and efficient work, and for the integrity of our Chinese colleagues in terms of cooperation. This is a good example for other countries, for the whole world," Matytsin said during the videoconference, adding that it is an example of relationship building.
The minister wished everyone peace and sports victories.
By decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the years 2022 and 2023 have been declared cross years for Russian-Chinese cooperation in physical culture and sports.
Earlier in November, Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin and Chinese Ambassador Zhang Hanhui attended a KHL match between Dynamo Moscow and Kunlun Red Star. Such joint actions are evidence of the further development and strengthening of relations between Russia and China in general and in the field of sport in particular.
