Russia exports more than 66 million tonnes of grain in 2023
According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, "last year's sales were an absolute record for Russia," adding that "most of the exports were wheat, corn and barley."
He also noted that Russia remains the world's largest trader of wheat and is the main supplier to countries such as Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, India and China.
"Despite a significant decline in global prices, our revenues from agricultural exports continue to grow. For example, revenue in 2023 will be US$43.5 billion, which is $1.5 billion more than the export revenue figure for 2022," said Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev.
He noted that the range of products is also increasing. "In addition to cereals, fish, seafood, oil and fat products, meat, dairy and confectionery products have become important positions for us," he noted.
Thus, Russia is an important supplier and in many ways a stabiliser in the world market in a number of positions. This is reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.
Now Russian food products are bought by more than 150 countries.
