Russia increases production and exports of meat products

The country is among the world's top ten meat exporters

Russia continues to strengthen its position in the global market for meat and meat products. This is reported by the official website of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

According to data for January-November 2024, the country's production of meat products is showing steady growth: output of sausage products increased by 1.9 per cent (to 2.3 million tonnes), semi-finished meat products by 5 per cent (to 4.5 million tonnes), and canned meat products by 1.2 per cent (to 833,000 tonnes).

In 2024, the volume of meat and by-products exported abroad totalled more than 700 thousand tonnes, which is 27 per cent more than a year earlier.

The growth in exports of pork (+33 per cent), poultry (+25 per cent) and cattle meat (+22 per cent) is particularly notable.

Sergey Yushin, Head of the National Meat Association, noted, the success of Russian exports is due to an increase in production volumes, business investment in promoting products on international markets, and active support from the government.
