Russia offers Brazil participation in the creation of an orbital station

"Roscosmos" offered space agencies of Brazil, Turkey and South Africa to participate in the Russian Orbital Station (ROS)

Roscosmos CEO Yuri Borisov told the International Astronautical Congress IAC-2023 in Baku that delegations from Brazil, Turkey and South Africa have expressed interest in possible participation in the project, as reported by Toda Palavra, a partner of TV BRICS.

"Meetings and bilateral contacts have shown that interest in Russian cosmonautics and Russian achievements is very high. We have informed our colleagues about our plans to develop ROS and continue our manned programme. We invite them to participate," said Borisov to reporters.

He added that there was "genuine interest" in the project from Turkey, South Africa and Brazil. "Basically, we are in good contact with the BRICS countries," noted the head of the corporation.

The Roscosmos state corporation emerged in 1992 after the collapse of the Soviet Union and is responsible for the Russian Federation's space programmes and research. The first ROS module is expected to be launched in 2027 and the first cosmonauts will be sent in 2028. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2032.
