The gross grain harvest in Russia in 2025 may total 135 million tonnes, including 88 million tonnes of wheat. This forecast was announced by the country’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev during a working meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This result is supported by increased yields, which, according to Patrushev, are 10 per cent higher this year than in the previous one.

“I would like to note that for about six years now, grain harvests in Russia have consistently exceeded 120 million tonnes. This has largely been made possible thanks to systematic state support and the introduction of advanced technologies,” Patrushev stated.

To boost production, farmers are mastering new methods: obtaining two harvests from the same field and using aviation to artificially increase rainfall.

The livestock sector is also showing steady growth. By the end of the year, meat production will amount to 17 million tonnes, and milk output will exceed 34 million tonnes. Progress has also been achieved in seed breeding: the share of domestically produced seeds is expected to approach 70 per cent by the end of 2025.
