Russia to release jubilee cycle about world-famous international authors of "Za Rubezhom" publication
Russia will publish a cycle of publications about world-famous foreign writers who have cooperated with the "Za Rubezhom" publication, which is celebrating its 95th anniversary. The project "Abroad – in touch with the world" will tell about Ernest Hemingway, Heinrich Mann, Roger Vercel, Romain Rolland, Andor Gabor, and other authors from different countries. Their works devoted to important social problems were once published in the popular Soviet edition. The jubilee cycle will be prepared by the "Modern Russian" information and educational project of TV BRICS in cooperation with the "Za Rubezhom" publication. The materials will be available to a wide audience on both resources.
"Our proposed review of the work of domestic and foreign writers associated with the publication ‘Za Rubezhom’ will allow us to assess the level of their involvement in solving acute social problems of their time. The modern reader will be interested to know why the whole world stood up in defence of Maksim Gorky, how Ernest Hemingway opposed the war, what the humanist Heinrich Mann was against, what dangers of social experiments Herbert Wells warned about... The materials will allow us to trace the interaction of writers from different countries with the 'Za Rubezhom’ publication and better understand the role of writers in political, cultural, and social life"

The newspaper "Za Rubezhom" was founded in 1930 on the initiative of the internationally renowned writer Aleksey Maksimovich Gorky, who became its first Editor-in-Chief. Nowadays "Za Rubezhom" works as an online publication and is part of the Eurasian Media Group. It specialises in the international agenda, as well as topics in economics, science, culture, and art.
"The year 2025 is a jubilee year for us: "Za Rubezhom" celebrates the 95th anniversary of the first issue of the publication and the 65th anniversary since the magazine was relaunched. In its time, "Za Rubezhom" became a real window to Europe, America, and other corners of the world for Soviet readers. Gorky invited to cooperate with representatives of missions in different countries, figures of foreign social-democratic parties and emigrants sympathetic to the Soviet Union. Enjoying authority in the literary world, he attracted prominent intellectuals and humanitarians to work in the publication. In fact, "Za Rubezhom" performed the function of an information hub, which today is carried out at a new level by TV BRICS, which has created a technology of multilateral information exchange between media outlets of different countries of the world," said Elena Bobkova, Editor-in-Chief of the "Za Rubezhom" portal.
The international information and educational project "Modern Russian" was created in 2007 to popularise the Russian language, improve the literacy level of the population and provide linguistic assistance. It is implemented by TV BRICS. It has no analogues in Russia and abroad in terms of a set of practical philological activities. Information resources and consulting services of the project are used in more than 150 countries around the world.
