Russian and Brazilian foreign ministers discuss strengthening strategic partnership between the two countries
During the telephone conversation on 2 February, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov wished success to the Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira as head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Lavrov and Vieira intend to continue joint work on strengthening relations between the two countries. The ministers discussed topical issues of cooperation between Russia and Brazil, as well as within the framework of interaction at the international level, as reported by official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The Russian and Brazilian foreign ministers spoke about the schedule of forthcoming Russian-Brazilian contacts at various levels.
Mauro Vieira had already served as Brazil's Foreign Minister in 2015-2016. During that period, the head of state was Dilma Rousseff, the country's first woman president.
