Russia believes that the potential of bilateral relations will be fully tapped
On Tuesday, 15 November, on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali, a meeting was held between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, as reported on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Lavrov said that Russia welcomed the re-election of Xi Jinping to the post of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. The minister expressed hope for continuity in the approaches towards the Russian direction of the renewed party and the PRC's state apparatus.
“I am glad for our tenth contact this year. The leaders of Russia and China also meet regularly. The last contact took place in Samarkand on the sidelines of a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State. They confirmed the tasks that we have to solve at the new stage of our relations,” said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The Russian diplomat praised the success of bilateral cooperation and mentioned the need to further build it up and strengthen partnerships in various fields.
“There is no doubt that we will be able to use new opportunities to more fully unlock the potential of bilateral ties,” Lavrov stressed.
At the meeting, the diplomats discussed a number of topical issues on the joint agenda, including issues of cooperation in practical areas. The parties expect the development of partnership at various levels.
As a result of the dialogue, the ministers came to a consensus on the vast majority of issues on the global and regional agenda. The parties agreed to strengthen strategic cooperation between the Russian Federation and China in the context of a rapidly changing geopolitical situation.

And Cameroon, which is our country, and Africa at large. We know the relationships that have been established between Russia and African countries, Russia and BRIC countries, it make us really sure that something new will come up in Africa, something new in the era of development."
